Radiesse

Radiesse is a collagen stimulating dermal filler, composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Once injected, the gel matrix provides immediate volume and correction. CaHA particles then integrate into your skin and create a “scaffold” that stimulates production of collagen and elastin. As the gel breaks down a firm network of collagen fibres forms, smoothing lines and promoting renewed skin structure.

Radiesse can be used to give definition and contour areas such as the cheeks, jaw and chin. It can also be hyper-diluted to treat finer lines by promoting collagen stimulation, in areas such as the lower cheeks, chin shadow, neck and hands. The results can last up to 9-12 months.

Risks and Side effects

Because this is a semi-permanent filler it cannot be dissolved, so you need to be confident that this is the right treatment for you. For safety, a cannula will be used in this majority of treatments, to minimise risks of vascular occlusion (blocking an artery).

Immediately after treatment there can be some significant swelling for a few days. Rarely nodules can form, especially in the backs of the hands, and these cannot be treated, but will disappear within 1 year. They can be prevented by massaging in the first few days after treatment.

Prices:

1.5ml syringe £480, can be hyper-diluted to 3 or 6mls for the same price.
