What treatment do I need?
Dr Tallent is available for consultations, to discuss the best treatment for your requirements. She will make suggestions based on her years of studying aesthetics, and continued education to improve her knowledge. You don’t have to do everything in one go, or even at all! Everything is done at your pace, but some areas of the face are better treated first, as they have an impact on others, eg often the cheeks are the first place to inject with Dermal filler, as this can improve the naso-labial folds and jowls, and therefore other areas will require less filler.
Will there be down time?
It depends! Some people are lucky enough to never bruise. But all treatments with a needle have this as a risk, and our faces are full of blood vessels, so it is best to expect one, and then be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t happen. Toxin treatment tends to bruise less than dermal fillers. And Dermal fillers tend to have some swelling in the first 24-48 hours, especially around the lip area. Ice and arnica can be applied to help. Skin treatments such as micro-needling and chemical peels can leave some redness and flaking of the skin for a few days.
Will I look different?
The aim is to keep you looking like yourself, but just a refreshed version. Some people like to have a more obvious ‘look’, but in most cases at Tallent Medical we like to keep the results as natural as possible.
Will I look younger?
Hopefully you will look refreshed and slightly younger, but we can’t guarantee to take years off you! It can be a balance between looking younger, and looking overdone, so our philosophy at Tallent Medical is to keep you looking like yourself, but a better version.
What happens if something goes wrong?
In the rare event of a complication, Dr Tallent is highly competent in managing these, and also has access to colleagues who specialise in the management of aesthetic complications should the need arise. She has also successfully managed complications from practitioners who were unable to treat them due to their inexperience.
